Overview

375 million years ago, our ancestors crawled out of the waters... Underwater is about the experience of total submersion; we invite you to return you to the depths once more. The show features 10 international contemporary artists, including Bill Viola, Ellen Gallagher and Dorothy Cross, with depictions of sublime seascapes, mermaid-like females and other aquatic creatures, and a motorised submarine. This is a Towner Touring Exhibition curated by Angela Kingston.
