New body of work by Zurich based Armenian painter, Armen Eloyan, known for his paintings of cartoon inspired characters acting out tragi-comic scenarios. The new paintings focus on a series of Pinocchio figures fashioned from logs, sausages, screws and potatoes, sporting goofy teeth, lolling tongues or googling eyes. Eloyan's mis-shapen, mutilated figures exude a powerful pathos, combining humour with a profoundly existential twist.
