The Founders of Daytona Beach Also Founded Dayton, Ohio Jeremy Couillard has developed a new work that builds on his characteristic exploration of alien life forms and out of body experiences using the interactive and competitive structure of computer games to build narrative. Within this new work, the users’ disembodied awareness floats wherever you look (no controllers needed). You search for random syllables hidden among surreal creatures in order to create a unique word that, when said out loud, will give you back your body. The whole thing can take anywhere from 10 - 30 minutes.  Couillard's digital-inspired works are often glimpses of the artist's varied experiences growing up in a tech-driven society. His compositions are made up of miscellaneous objects, spaces, and are imbued with a psychedelic colour palette that evokes cyber-culture in all its manifestations.
