Overview

The former Odeon Site, 24 Grafton Way, WC1E 6DB Behind hoardings on a busy central London street, unusual sculptural figures can be found in an abandoned, overgrown landscape. Some are fragmented, broken. Others appear deformed or eroded. Dig delves into figurative sculpture as forms of worship, as deities to protect against spirits, encourage fertility or satisfy the gods. It asks what their role might be in more secular societies today, and how beliefs and doubts might now be embodied. Dig is Artangel's most recent site-specific commission with a young British sculptor and Daniel Silver's most ambitious project to date. http://www.artangel.org.uk
