Overview

Since 2015 Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art and National Glass Centre have been working together to preserve important works of art of our time for Sunderland, creating a legacy for the city, for the future. As part of a new exhibition that offers an initial glimpse into the first works acquired for these permanent collections, we are showing Chris Cornish’s astonishing digital animation The Adventure and the Resolution. Cornish presents us with a breathtaking illusion in which we encounter ‘smoke and mirrors’ in quite unexpected ways.
