Studio Voltaire presents a new exhibition by Charlotte Prodger. The presentation will be the artist’s first solo exhibition outside of Glasgow where she is currently based. Prodger’s practice spans 16mm film, video, audiotape and sculpture; often acting in unison within installations. Working as a DJ to sustain her art practice, she cites this as an influence whereby individual works are approached as remixes of each other. Motifs, materials and anecdotes get repurposed and reconfigured and, as the body of work amasses, it gathers new components. For her show at Studio Voltaire, Prodger will create a new installation using multi-channel technology, ripped YouTube videos and recorded spoken word. This work uses spatial dialogue between objects (speakers, monitors, boombox) to agitate the materiality of image and sound.
