Overview
Atlas's new videos, projected over three full gallery walls, take as their point of departure an imagined future view point from which Atlas' past works - or self- are regarded and vice-versa. The piece 'Joints'...is an installation of Super 8 colour films of the dancer Merce Cunningham shot by Atlas in '71 articulating his joints in a minimal dance. The films are edited to be shown across 10 monitors of various sizes while ambient sound (originally recorded by John Cage in the 80s and reworked by Atlas) and multiple shadows shift around the room.
