Majority Report presents a selected snapshot of the state of amateur photography in the digital age through a photographic narrative of America at a pivotal moment. It questions our assumptions about the nature of amateur photography at a time when the private is becoming public and when journalism has become the domain of the citizen. The exhibition draws together photographs taken in America and posted on the image hosting website Flickr. Since its inception in 2004 the site has developed into a complex depository of over three billion images that mark a diverse range of agendas and photographic strategies.
