Meandering between drawing, photography, sculpture and astonishing stop motion animations, Rebetez' work represent something completely individual and fresh. Using a range of materials like plaster, masking tape, marker pens and plastic wrap, old roller skates, construction materials and car tyres, Rebetez is creating his own visual language. Myth and fairytale are expressed with an underlying malevolence, and supposedly joyous European traditions like carnival with an unexpected melancholy. For his first solo UK exhibition, Rebetez will plaster the 4.5 metre high gallery walls with his signature large format self adhesive photgraphs and drawings, and will collaborate with students on wood and cardboard sculpture during the course of the installation.
