Overview

British born, Berlin-based artist Ivan Seal makes dark, awkward, funny paintings of objects, part remembered, part imagined. His thick layering of paint in lurid colours brings a strong sense of materiality to these shape-shifting, slippery images that sit in shallow, ambiguous spaces. This exhibition features over 50 paintings and is Seal’s first large-scale solo exhibition in a public space.
