In the Prints & Originals Gallery. Immaculate Confection showcases paintings by the British contemporary artist Darrell Hawkins. Many of the works have been newly created for this exhibition. Hawkins is a chronicler of contemporary life. His works are meditations on the world about him and his memories of the past. The exhibited paintings encapsulate a world of colour, play, rhythm and abstraction in which the elements collide in a way that is simultaneously organised and chaotic. “I want my work to emulate the fractious, absurd and seemingly random nature of life.”
