Overview

Alice is an exhibition by a group of artists interested in the illusive nature of experience. Considering the visual world as fundamentally unreliable, the photographic and installation-based works elude and evade capture. Like smoke and mirrors, illusion, uncertainty and artifice, they tease, they demand and entertain. Magical imaginings and made up childhood memories feature in practices which are delightfully diverse, playfully engaging with the illusive and deceptive medium of photography. The participating artists are all involved in photography education at the University of West London. This exhibition showcases their professional art practice which underpins their approach to photographic education.
