4 Jul-30 Aug 2009
MK Gallery
Milton Keynes MK9 3QA
Long Gallery. Artist Lyndall Phelps documents and displays the re-enactment of pigeon manoeuvres undertaken during both World Wars, through photography, video and sculpture. Homing pigeons saved many lives through being released with coordinates by survivors of plane crashes. They were also parachuted behind enemy lines to be sent back with vital information for the Allies.
