FIONA CRISP : Negative Capability: The Stourhead Cycle
20 Jun-29 Jul 2012
Matt’s Gallery
London SW11 7AN
A cycle of eight large-scale photographic works shown for the first time continuing Crisp’s exploration of what, in phenomenological terms, a photograph is – What is it capable of? The historic house at Stourhead is employed by Crisp as a formal device to reflect upon the colliding imperatives of heritage, leisure and history at a site of national cultural significance.
