Overview
In these pastels and prints Rego’s explores life in the raw, and her Jane is seen both as child victim of cruelty and woman survivor. Rego’s imagination extends the narrative of the Bronte story, with Jane’s character intertwined with that of Rochester’s mad wife Bertha.
