Curated by Andrew Bick. Featuring Artists: Adam Colton, Norman Dilworth, Gerhard von Graevenitz, Anthony Hill, Peter Struycken, Mary Martin, Germaine Kruip. Taking its cue from the seminal Hayward Gallery exhibition of 1980, 'Pier + Ocean', this show revisits the work of some of the artists included in that project. It also reflects Norman Dilworth's original collaboration with Gerhard von Graevenitz on the Hayward exhibition as a way of exploring an Anglo-Dutch sharing of sensibilities rooted in Constructivism, and as the original title hints, the world of Piet Mondrian. Pier + Ocean was a very catholic take on what constructivist tendencies might mean at the end of the 1970´s and a look forward to where such tendencies might lead.
