Overview

This exhibition brings together works that reflect on the relationship between word and image, on the limits of language and the ineffable. Each work examines or defamiliarizes both language and film for different ends. While some works explore the formal and expressive qualities of words and film, others return the viewer to the here and now, to ask something of the political and social conditions in which we live. Artists include Matthew Buckingham, Sharon Hayes, John Smith and others.
