Liza Lou
20 Apr-26 May 2012
White Cube Hoxton Square
London N1 6PB

Much of the American artist's previous work has explored political and social themes through beaded installations that are at once beautiful and menacing but Lou’s recent work is smaller in scale and almost entirely abstract. Emphasising formal characteristics such as structure, surface and rhythm, she has created a group of shimmering meditations on time, labour and the pleasures and ambiguities of looking.
