Tai-Shan Schierenberg : Men Without Women

16 Oct-23 Nov 2019

Flowers, Cork Street
London W1S 3LZ

Overview

Figurative paintings on the theme of masculinity and male identity. The title refers to Ernest Hemingway's second short story collection on the themes of bullfighting, prize fighting, infidelity, divorce, and death. In response, Schierenberg’s contemporary images of violence, solitariness, father-son relationships and camaraderie, provide a nuanced reflection on current debates surrounding masculine stereotypes.
