Hassan Hajjaj’s artworks are characterised by an explosion of colour, pattern and appropriated brand logos. At this workshop Let’s Make Art invite children to emulate and compliment his style by doing the same. Each child will be given a Dura-weave paper jacket as a blank canvas and will be invited to decorate their wearable garment with stencils and colourful specialist pens and paper cut outs. Just like Hassan’s work marries Morrocan culture with different pop art influences and recognisable brands, can you incorporate any brands, architecture or designs that are rooted in Bristol’s communities? We have invited the wonderful artists at Let’s Make Art to run a series of fun workshops to develop your own stand out style! Inspired by Hassan Hajjaj’s celebration of his Moroccan heritage and cultural influences, we will be celebrating the beautiful diversity that make Bristol such a great city to live in. All the workshops will be finished off with our Photo Booth. Reproducing Hassan Hajjaj’s recognisable style of portraiture, we will create a flamboyant backdrop and frame to capture the wearable artwork created at all Let’s Make Art workshops. With permission your child will be sent a portrait of themselves in all their colourful designs. Extra precautions will be put in place to ensure all families can take part in the workshop safely. Age guidance 5+. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer. 1.00pm to 2.15pm and 3.00pm to 4.15pm
