I’m interested in making art that consciously offers the means to unpick the cultural values and systems that simultaneously enable the work, functioning as a kind of anthropological cypher, with a specific interest in exploring violence.
What I am more specifically interested in is whether things like Instagram doggo culture, memes, tyres, stone carvings and a plethora of pop culture detritus in one sense exist within a continuum of behavioural continuity for humanity and in another by virtue of their constant consumption and redistribution consequently arrive at a point whereby they gain a kind of self-acknowledging criticality or self-consciousness, that is readily weaponizable.
In practice what this means is that I am a project based, site responsive or site-specific artist who is interested in exploring both the world and my complicit place within it.
