Michela de Mattei (b.1984, Rome, Italy), studied Philosophy at Universita di Roma la Sapienza, where she was also the assistant to artist Giuseppe Gallo. Through her practice, which spans drawings, sculpture, installation and video, Michela uses fictional narratives to explore complexities of authority and methods of control. Recent projects draw particularly pertinent connections between the wonders of the natural world and our changing, technocratic, relation to our ecosystem.
