Ayten Turanlı was born in Eskisehir, Turkey, in 1951. Between 1994 and 1996 she studied Ceramics at George Washington University, Fine Arts Faculty, and between 1996 and 1997 at Clayworks Ceramics Studio, in Baltimore, USA. Then she began teaching ceramics as Pi Artworks Ceramic Studio Instructor and Director. She joined in several group exhibition including 6th International Biennale for Ceramics, Caire, Egypt (2002), 15th Istanbul Art Fair, Tuyap, Pi Artworks, Istanbul (2005), ''Art Colony'', Gallery Helena, Halkidiki, Greece (2008). Her last solo exhibition titled “Cobblestones” was held at Pi artworks in 2010.
