Alastair and Fleur explore the boundaries of the conventional limits between nature and culture using sculptural interventions. They use natural materials to expose the clichés still hampering our understanding of the relationship between man and the natural world.
Alastair grew up in an agricultural community in Cornwall while Fleur’s childhood was split between Cameroon, France, and the UK. They met at art school in London in the late 90’s. Initially their creative practices were separate, but over time their work has evolved into a natural collaboration. In 2011 they moved to live and work in Cornwall. These divergent worlds undoubtedly contribute to their perspective and frame their conceptual approach to work.
Alastair studied at Camberwell College of Art (1997) and City and Guilds London School (2000). Fleur studied at City and Guilds London School (2000).
