Rebecca Moss critically examines heroic narratives through absurdist gestures. Her videos speculate upon ecological instability, humanity's relationship to the natural world, and how a feminist perspective could transform our position on the planet. She is also interested in how slapstick performance can speak to power through humour. Rebecca was born in Essex where she is currently based. She gained her MA Sculpture from the Royal College of Art (2017) and BA Painting from Camberwell College of Art (2013). Recent and forthcoming projects include group exhibition Beano: The Art of Breaking the Rules, curated by Andy Holden, Somerset House, London (2021); a residency Unnatural Selection with Airspace Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent (2021); a screening of new commissioned work, Here/Her, A Walk Along the Edge of the City, for the Estuary Festival, Metal Culture UK (2021); an invitation to propose a public sculpture idea for The High Line, New York (2020); and a commission with PEER Gallery, Hoxton, to work with 17–23-year-old PEER Ambassadors to develop site-responsive artworks in East London (2019-20). Solo shows include From the Sublime to the Ridiculous, Bunkier Sztuki, Krakow (2019). Group shows include The Sea is Glowing, Rijeka, Croatia (2020); Future Generation Art Prize, PinchukArtCentre, Kiev and Venice Biennale (2017); and A BROKEN LINK, Golden Age Cinema, Sydney Australia (2017). rebeccamoss.co.uk
