Kathleen Ryan (b. 1984, Santa Monica, USA) creates sculptures in the palette of the American vernacular, drawings on trinkets, hobbies and leisure; the glory and rudimentary phenomena of nature; and the playground-cum-junkyard of abundance at that country’s heart. A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, Ryan has held institutional solo exhibitions at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna; the New Art Gallery, Walsall, UK; the MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge, USA; and the Cc Foundation & Art Centre, Shanghai. She will hold a solo exhibition at the Hamburg Kunsthalle in 2023.
