Pedro Reyes’s exhibition at Lisson Gallery London continues his investigation into the history of statuary, as rst presented in New York last year. A series of new sculptures – made from volcanic stone, marble, stainless steel, alabaster, bronze and sandstone – resonates with both modern and ancient sources, with references as diverse as Pre-Colombian and Mayan art to contemporary British sculptors, including Reg Butler, Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore. Created on a more intimate scale with a light and re ned color palette, the plinth-based sculptures combine elements of contemporary and ancient with guration and abstraction. The works will be surrounded by a site-speci c wall installation – an ornamental frieze nearly two meters high.

For his tenth exhibition with Lisson Gallery, Dan Graham draws on his long-standing history working with music and performance to present a new stage-set design, alongside over-sized models, video and a courtyard pavilion, exploring the relationship between audience and performer.

Nov 16, 2018 - Jan 5, 2019
This November, Lisson Gallery London is pleased to present an exhibition celebrating one of the founders of the hard-edge style of Minimalism, Leon Polk Smith. Following Lisson Gallery’s first exhibition in New York with the Leon Polk Smith Foundation last year (8 September – 21 October 2017), this show will feature nine large canvases, focusing on a period from 1965 to the mid 1980s. As the first major presentation of his work in the UK, this exhibition will introduce local audiences to the abstract multipart canvases of this still under-appreciated American artist.
