EVAN IFEKOYA : SCREENING & CONVERSATION

A screening of a selection of short films by exhibiting artist, Evan Ifekoya. The screening will be followed by a conversation between Ifekoya and filmmaker and programmer Rabz Lansiquot which will consider the thematic threads that run through Ifekoya's practice from their earlier video work to the sound installation created for their solo exhibition here at Gasworks.
 
This event accompanies Evan Ifekoya's first solo exhibition in London, Ritual Without Belief. It is part of the public programme for the exhibition, produced by Rabz Lansiquot.
 
The exhibition continues until 2 September 2018.
6.30 - 8.30pm. Free to attend, no booking required.

JAMES N. KIENITZ WILKINS

The first UK solo exhibition and a major new commission by Brooklyn-based artist and filmmaker James N. Kienitz Wilkins, whose films often incorporate monologue as a way to fuse original script writing with documentary sources, such as found footage and text, interviews and dreams.

Comprising a multi-channel sound work, large-scale sculpture and series of prints, Quantum Ghost maps Clayton’s journey through archives and territories related to her family history. Clayton describes the work as, ‘a montage of intimate moments and correspondence, set against a rhythm of social uprisings, political turmoil, and natural disaster'.
