KARANJIT PANESAR : THE WAY THINGS ARE
Nov 10 - Dec 15, 2018
Private view Fri Nov 9 6pm - 9pm
THE WAY THINGS ARE is a solo exhibition by Leeds based artist Karanjit Panesar, the final selected artist of the hotel generation programme for 2018.

What is the place of the alienated individual in the globalised world system, and why are alternatives to it so hard to imagine? How can we think the future when we are told that this is the way things are, and that this is the way things have to be?

Framed within an installation that suggests a site of theatrical ruin and comprising of sculpture, film, CGI animation, and text, THE WAY THINGS ARE is an attempt to affectively map a world system that is so large and unrepresentable a totality as to seep into almost every interaction in some way.
