ANNE-MARIE CREAMER : A DIAGRAM OF WAITING
Sep 7 - Oct 20, 2017
Anne-Marie Creamer’s installation takes as its subject the linear progression, and dramatic staging, of the transition of an actor into a fictional character, including the initial stages of the script, diagrams of the gestures and movements of the actor, props and lighting, the actor endlessly rehearsing a single scene, and finally silhouettes and props of the stage – shown from the perspective of looking in from the wings of the theatre; A back-stage viewing, A Diagram of Waiting.

Jan 18 - Feb 23, 2018 FINAL WEEK
Griffin Gallery is delighted to present ‘In Line’; an exhibition bringing together the work of nine artists whose distinct practices explore a common territory in quite different ways and mediums including painting, video, installation, wall painting, drawing and kinetic sculpture. Each artist is concerned with the use of line to generate a complex structure or form, bounded by a set of rules that ultimately determine the final work.

"During the residency I’ll be collaborating with a number of invited artists to consider the physical presence of paint and the posterity of painting in post digital visual culture. We will be working with a limited palette of red, green and blue (the colours of the screen) to make ‘paintings’ together that can be presented, recorded and then reconfigured with work made by the other artists as the residency progresses."During the residency I’ll be collaborating with a number of invited artists to consider the physical presence of paint and the posterity of painting in post digital visual culture. "During the residency I will be making small scale ‘meteors’, clusters of acrylic paint interlaced with digital prints with the idea that each belonged to a distant planet, each specimen acts as messenger to playfully visualise and interpret the planet."

Using the floor plan from his own London apartment (1 Godley VC House), artist Tim A Shaw will construct a skeleton timber framework of his living space to scale within the gallery. Tracing out each room, the structure offers a suggestion of domesticity that provides the setting for a collection of artworks that furnish its interior.
