Click to enlargeTIM NOBLE AND SUE WEBSTER : STICKS WITH DICKS AND SLITS
Feb 3 - Mar 25, 2017
Tim Noble and Sue Webster return to Blain|Southern London to present a new body of sculptural works. In their third exhibition with the gallery, ‘sticks with Dicks and Slits’, the duo present pairs of giant self-portraits. These stickfigures are sculpted in twisted bronze, an entirely new method for the artists.

Based on handmade maquettes made with electrical wire, the sculptures are an act of upscaling playful ephemera into physically domineering artworks with a permanency and scale that transcends human limitations.

MAT COLLISHAW : THE CENTRIFUGAL SOUL
Apr 7 - May 27, 2017
In The Centrifugal Soul, Mat Collishaw presents new sculpture, installation and paintings that emerged from his interest in a theory about why humans make and display art.

BERNAR VENET : LOOKING FORWARD: 1961-1984
Jun 8 - Jul 22, 2017
Private view Wed Jun 7 6pm - 8pm
Blain|Southern is proud to present Bernar Venet’s first major solo exhibition in London since his 1975 solo presentation at the ICA. The exhibition will survey an important period of the artist’s career, presenting his seminal early works from the 1960’s until the early ‘80s. The French conceptual artist rose to prominence in the late Sixties through the avant-garde art scene in New York. He moved to the city in 1966 and was instrumental in developing the new radical propositions of conceptual art, alongside artists such as On Kawara, Lawrence Weiner, Joseph Kosuth, Art & Language and Robert Barry.
