FRANK BRANGWYN’S PRINTS
Jun 5 - Sep 30, 2018
Frank Brangwyn (1867–1956) achieved early fame as a printmaker, and made over 1,000 original prints in his lifetime. His work is characterised by an intense sympathy for the daily labour of humanity. During the 1930s he gave away much of his work, and the Royal Pavilion & Museums holds one of the country’s largest collections of prints by Brangwyn. This display of etchings and lithographs from the Fine Art collection captures the range of his work.

QUEER LOOKS
30 June 2018 to Summer 2019
This fascinating display of outfits and oral histories from LGBTQ individuals from Sussex, from the 1950s to the present day, looks at how individuals construct identities, both personal and collective, through dress.
Local LGBTQ communities have informed the content of this display, including the comedian Zoe Lyons, journalist Sophie Cook and trans campaigner Fox Fisher.

A Lady with a Squirrel and a Starling is one of Hans Holbein the Younger’s earliest English portraits and it is one of his most engaging and beautiful works. This touching portrait holds many secrets to decode. Alongside this 16th Century Masterpiece, the functions and meanings of portraiture from the period will be explored through a selection of works from our own collection.
