DAVID CHEESEMAN : DRAWN BREATH
Nov 2 - Dec 7, 2019
Working mainly with sculpture, installation and photography David Cheeseman’s practice was informed by specific links and analogies. He was profoundly interested in process to analyse and construct a visual
proposition.

Materiality was as important as image; his fascination with the methodologies and philosophies of science and magic culminated in works that are conceptually complex and visually rich.

David Cheeseman died of cancer in September 2018. He worked on new pieces right up to the end of his life and in the summer of last year we had cheerfully talked about and planned a second show at Tintype.

ADAM GILLAM : IN CONSTANT USE
Jun 10 - Jul 18, 2020 FINAL WEEK
IN CONSTANT USE refers to the space in which Adam Gillam currently works – a garage awaiting conversion to a studio, and to his working methods. Change, evolution, and cannibalization are key to his practice. Gillam has a passion for playful bricolage, imposing witty transformations on found materials.

Viewable in the window only.
Dread one day at a time brings together into a sealed window space, objects made before and after the UK government’s Coronavirus lockdown. Jo Addison’s work draws on shared cultural memory and evokes an odd, intuitive recognition of familiar things, loosened from their bearings in daily life.
